I'm Switzerland. (At least in the blogosphere)

Without weighing into the interminable Middle East debate, I want only to share an excerpt from an article in today's Wall Street Journal.

"States can't--and don't--share borders with militias. That abnormality on the Lebanese-Israeli border is sure not to survive this crisis. One way or other, the Lebanese army will have to take up its duty on the Lebanon-Israel border. By the time the dust settles, this terrible summer storm will have done what the Lebanese government had been unable to do on its own."

A Little Lebowitz for the Morning

Sardonic wit, in my book, couldn't be better equated with anyone than Fran Lebowitz. Fell asleep last night with her essay, "When the Smoke Clears", and am still feeling salty as I start my day.

Here's a Fran-ism to get you on the road:

"You're only as good as your last haircut."

Word.

Abandoned Ship?

So the entire Fifa World Cup tournament has passed since my last post. Shameful. It's been a busy month, complete with a super weeklong road trip and vacation that took me to such exotic locales as New York City and Cape Cod (with a quick jaunt to Providence, R.I. in between). But it was good times with friends from college and law school. And it was relaxing. And I surfed ( go figure). So no complaints.

But now I'm back and have re-established internet connectivity, so expect to hear more in the coming days.
