And now for something completely different...

So I'm taking ballroom dance lessons at Arthur Murray on Ste. Catherine Street. It's a 2-room, second floor studio across from Le Faubourg, and just above Mourelatos (when you shop Mourelatos, it's a feeling... it's like taking a trip, far away... SURE.). For the next week, as part of the Arthur Murray patented "Kick-Start" program, I will be taking an intense lesson with my partner almost every evening.

It's all about the muscle memory at the beginning.

Thus far, in two lessons (the first is complimentary), we've learned to waltz, to rumba, and to merengue. On tap for the rest of the week: salsa, cha-cha-cha, foxtrot and maybe, if time permits, the tango.

Sheesh.

No, we weren't inspired by "Dancing with the Stars". Maybe by "Shall we Dance?", but, mostly by just a geeky desire to be able to elegantly rip up the floor at bat mitzvahs and law firm receptions.

Our instructor isn't very friendly. She's hardcore. All business. And we're loving it.

Promise to keep you posted on our progress.
